Character and Leadership programs empower young people to become responsible, caring. Through these programs, members develop strong leadership abilities and gain valuable experience in planning, decision-making, and community involvement. They also learn to take pride in contributing to their Clubs and communities while celebrating South Africa’s rich national heritage.

The Keystone programme is the Boys & Girls Clubs’ ultimate teen program for youth ages 14 to 18. This unique programme provides leadership development opportunities for youth to participate in activities, both in and out of the Club, in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service. With the guidance of an adult advisor, Keystone Clubs aim to positively impact teens, their Club and local communities.

Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Clubs of South Africa’s premier recognition program. It is our signature effort to foster a new generation of leaders, fully prepared to live and lead in a diverse, global and integrated world economy.

Torch Club provides opportunities for members to demonstrate the positive impact youth and teens can have on their communities. Through small group, peer-driven Leadership and Service clubs, members ages 10-13 identify needs in their Club or community, and create and implement service projects to address those needs. New Leadership and Service Sessions allow members to explore, practice and strengthen critical leadership skills.
